Planting seeds of daily growth

We planted pine tree seeds about 2 weeks ago and for those of you who don't know Target has really cool planting kits in the dollar section! The kits come with all you Will need to grow a plant or veggie or what ever they have in stock that week or month! We learned how trees live and how you can tell the age of a tree by the rings on the trunk when it is cut down!we learned how you have to water your plant to help it grow!I was able to share with the kids about how the pine tree seeds we planted is like us needing to read Gods word daily to stay alive in our walk with Christ and how the tree will grow with water and then I explained how we begin to grow in our faith and how we get to know God more when we read Gods word and I explained to them eating Gods word is like the seeds needing water to grow and live!I love how God gives you opportunities to share with our children about Gods word through something simple as planting a few seeds for a school science project! He is good all the time and I really enjoyed telling the kids about God and his word!I just hope and pray that they understand and if they don't that when they do get a little bigger that it will come back to there remembrance of what I taught them.Of course I wonder if they do but I have to remember to be faithful in being a mom and teaching them about God and God will do the rest:)

So as the days went on went by the kids watered there seeds and they have been able to see the result of faithfully watering there seeds!Oh they were so excited and look forward daily to looking at there little bitty pine trees grow:)The kids have been really enjoying school and learning!I enjoy it as well and look forward to the rest of the year:)

thank you for the reminder that we need to talk about God in the little things. And what a great lesson you got to share with them. I'm so glad you are finding so much joy in homeschooling.

Wow! I can't believe it! They are growing so well!! I have those same little kits, thanks for the motivation to actually do it :) I loved what you shared with the kiddos! It's amazing how when we are looking the opportunities are always there to talk to our children "When they rise up, when they sit, when they walk by the way and when they lie down!"

That is so funny...I just saw the plant kits yesterday at Target and thought...what a good idea!

I love how having our kids home for school gives us the opportunity to teach them about the glories of God in every subject and show all the ways in which we can and should praise Him...just looking at creation alone!!!!
